15 Proximate Falls Alarm Monitors recently purchased thanks to San Foundation

The Medical & Surgical nursing team at Sydney Adventist Hospital recently received funding from the San Foundation to purchase 15 Proximate Falls Alarm Monitors.

These devices are placed under patients at risk of falling and can be used on a bed or a chair. Nurses carry a pager which alarms to indicate a change in weight distribution, as would occur when patients attempt to get up. In the busy work environment, it is not possible to observe patients who are at risk of falls at all times. These devices assist in raising nurses' awareness of potential risk and enables staff to intervene before a disaster occurs.
