A remembrance, thanksgiving and healing service held at the Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church in memory of those loved ones who have since passed away.
The memorial service event was co-hosted by the San Foundation and San Spiritual Care Services.
Pastor Alban Matohiti, Senior Pastor Wahroonga Adventist Church presided over a beautiful service which included prayers and dedications from:
- Brett Goods, General Manager SAH & Deputy CEO, AHCL.
Pastor Nalissa Maberly, Spiritual Care Services and recently appointed Director of Spiritual Care Australia.- Chaplains Steve Stephenson, Julie Fehlberg and Kerrie McGibbon
- Barbara Ward, Managing Director, San Foundation
- Chris Williams, Group CIO, Adventist Healthcare
- Roopa Bazroy, Registered Nurse – SAH
Pan Pacific & African Choir directed by Dr Narko Tutuo, Paediatric Anaesthetist, Prince of Wales & Nepean Hospitals provided the music. Organ Interludes were performed by Michael Rigby, Sydney Campus Librarian, Avondale College.
An audience of over 200 was offered a space of remembrance through music, readings and a message of encouragement by Rev. Peter Ellem, Anglicare Chaplain, Westmead Children's Hospital. Many lit a candle in memory of a loved one and gave thanks through meditation and prayer. The memorial service was followed by a delicious afternoon tea.
Memorial services are held annually at the Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church and planning for the 2017 event is now underway. The 2017 annual memorial service shall be held on Sunday the 22nd of October. Please save the date if you would like to attend.
