Volunteering can connect you with like-minded people and give you a feeling of satisfaction that you are helping out in the community.
We have a large team of dedicated volunteers in both our San Help Team and at the San Cancer Support Centre who enjoy rewarding experiences through meeting new people, sharing their skills and working throughout many different areas of the Hospital.
Our volunteers are considered an equal part of the team along with paid staff and Board Members, and are offered positions that best recognise their skills, experience and personal preferences. All applicants for volunteer positions must go through a simple screening and recruitment process. Volunteers are provided with support and training to perform their chosen tasks, and while most do not require any additional training, some roles require particular skills or experience.
We have opportunities for one-off or occasional volunteering for projects, events, mailouts or sub-committees, as well as regular commitment to workshops, programs or administrative tasks.
With the many demands and competing fundraising events and initiatives the San Foundation runs throughout the year we are always grateful for a helping hand. We know that there are many talented people out there who love to help and through their own unique gifts bring something special to an upcoming fundraising event.
If you are musically inclined and would be willing to donate your time to perform at an upcoming San Foundation event, to inspire others and enhance the atmosphere whilst showcasing your skills, then please contact the San Foundation.
If you are a creative soul who can sew or knit, make hand quilled gift cards, bookmarks, jewellery, soap or decorations to mention a few and would be willing to donate some of your work to raise funds for the foundation, we would be pleased to hear from you.
For all enquiries, please phone the Foundation Office on 02 9487 9405 or email foundation@sah.org.au
